HIM (His Infernal Majesty) is een band waar ik waarschijnlijk, naast Omnia, het meeste naar heb geluisterd. De band zelf omschrijft hun muziek als Love Metal. Vele malen heb ik de cd’s beluisterd nadat mijn hart was gebroken, maar ook zonder een gebroken hart is het heerlijke muziek. Van mooie kleine nummers naar stevige metal of rock, HIM heeft het allemaal in hun repertoire. Een van hun bekenste nummers is denk ik nog steeds de cover van Join Me (in Death). Mijn favoriete nummers zijn wat minder bekend bij het grote publiek. The Path en Resurrection zijn prachtig!

HIM (His Infernal Majesty) is a band I listen to the most, besides Omnia. They describe their music as Love Metal. I’ve listened to it many times after my heart was broken, but without a broken heart it’s also lovely music to listen to. From small beautiful songs to metal and rock, HIM has it all. One of their most known song still is the cover of Join Me (in Death) I think. My personal favorite songs are less known. The Path and Resurrection are beautiful!

Postcards Exchange


Ongeveer een week geleden heb ik mij aangemeld bij Postcrossing. Dit is een website waarbij mensen elkaar over de hele wereld kaarten kunnen sturen. Een ontzettend leuk idee, zo kom je in contact met mensen die totaal anders wonen en leven. Ik had al vaker gelezen over Postcrossing, maar toen ik laatst een vraag via Formspring aan Seraphinne stelde over Postcrossing werd ik gelijk enthousiast om mijzelf ook aan te melden!

Omdat ik net begonnen ben heb ik nog geen kaarten ontvangen, maar ik heb er inmiddels drie verstuurd. De eerste ging naar Deirdre uit Engeland, de tweede naar Grete uit Estland en vanmorgen heb ik er een gestuurd naar Julia uit Belarus. Ik ben heel benieuwd wanneer mijn eerste kaartje binnenkomt!

Postcards Exchange


About one week ago I signed up for Postcrossing. This is a website where people all over the world can send eachother postcards. It’s a really nice idea, this way you get to come in contact with people who live far away and have a completely different lifestyle. I’ve read about Postcrossing before, but when I asked a question about it with Formspring to Seraphinne, I really got enthousiastic and signed up!

Because I just started I haven’t recieved any postcards yet, but I’ve send three postcards. The first one went to Deidre from the United Kingdom, the second one to Grete from Estonia and this morning I’ve send one to Julie from Belarus. I can’t wait for my first recieved postcard!

Één van mijn favoriete bands qua rockmuziek is Linkin Park. Ik moet zeggen dat ik voornamelijk de nummers van de cd Hybrid Theory ken, omdat ik die zelf heb. Hun lyrics zijn rauw en intens. Ze hebben veel verwoord wat ik vroeger, en soms nog, voel maar zelf nooit heb uitgesproken. Een mooi voorbeeld van die rauwe teksten is Crawling. Dat blijft één van mijn favoriete nummers van ze. Het gaat mij hierbij nog meer om de tekst dan om de muziek, hoewel de muziek ook erg fijn is om naar te luisteren bij bepaalde emoties!

One of my favorite bands who make rockmusic is Linkin Park. I have to say that I mostly know the songs of the Hybrid Theory cd, because I have that cd at home. Their lyrics are raw and intens, and they have given words to feelings and thoughts I used to have, and sometimes still have, but which I never said out loud. A good example of those raw lyrics is Crawling. It’s one of my favortie songs by them. And with this song it’s more about the lyrics for me, but ofcourse the music is also very nice to listen to with some emotions!

Afgelopen dinsdag ben ik samen met mijn vriend, moeder, broertje en zusje een dagje naar de Apenheul in Apeldoorn geweest. Het was ontzettend leuk om daar weer eens terug te zijn, de laatste keer was alweer jaren geleden. Bij binnenkomst kwamen we gelijk bij de Doodshoofdaapjes uit, wat een leuke apen! Het is heel mooi om te zien hoe de dieren in de Apenheul veel vrijheid hebben, velen lopen los rond in het park. Ik vind dat erg belangrijk want ik heb altijd een dubbel gevoel bij het bezoeken van dierentuinen. Aan de ene kant vind ik het super om de dieren te kunnen zien, maar aan de andere kant vind ik het toch altijd zielig omdat ze niet in de natuur leven. Daarom was het fijn om te zien dat ze goed verzorgd worden en veel ruimte hebben.

Één van de Doodshoofdaapjes kwam nog even kijken bij mij, hij hield heel lief mijn shirt even vast. Echt schattig om te zien. De apen zijn vooral gek op kinderen, heel veel aapjes klommen op kinderwagens. Het park zelf is ook erg mooi. Veel groen, leuke klimpartijen en mijn broertje (8 jaar) en zusje (10 jaar) vonden de speeltuinen ook erg leuk. Het park is ook goed bezig met biologisch eten en drinken, en zelfs de servetten zijn van gerecycled materiaal!

Naast de Apenheul zit nog een gedeelte wat Berg & Bos heet. Helaas kwamen wij er niet meer aan toe om daar nog heen te gaan, maar ik weet van vroeger dat het erg mooi is daar. Mijn vriend en ik hebben gelijk besloten om daar ook nog een keertje apart heen te gaan. Sowieso is de route naar Apeldoorn erg mooi, vooral bij Ermelo. Ik zou graag verhuizen naar de bossen daar! Wat een rust, ruimte en natuur. Ik hoop gauw weer die kant op te kunnen gaan.

Last tuesday I went to the Apenheul (a zoo with monkeys), with my boyfriend, mom, brother and sister. It was really fun being there again, the last time I was there was years ago. At the beginning of the Apenheul were the Bolivian Squirrel Monkeys, and they are so cute! It’s good to see that the animals have a lot of freedom there, many of them walk free in the zoo.
I think that’s very important, I always have mixed feelings about zoo’s. It is great to see the animals, but it is also sad that they don’t live free in nature. That’s why it was so good to see that they were taken good care of and that they have a lot of freedom.

One of the Bolivian Squirrel Monkeys came to take a look at me, and he hold on to my t-shirt for a while. Very cute to see. The monkeys really like young children, a lot of them climed on top of their carriage’s. The zoo was very beautiful too see as well. A lot of nature, monkey bars and my brother (8 years old) and sister (10 years old) also like the playgrounds there.
They also have good biological food and drinks, even the napkins are of recycled materials!

Next to the Apenheul is a forest called Berg & Bos (Mountain and Forest). Unfortunatly we didn’t get around to visit the forest, but I know from years ago that it’s a lovely place. My boyfriend and I immediately desided to go back there in the near future. The road from my town to Apeldoorn (the town where the Apenheul is) is beautiful too, especially at a place called Ermelo. I would love to move there! There is a lot of peace, space and nature. I hope to be back there soon.
